Small Weekly Groups

I am starting a small weekly 2 hour painting group in Wallington, Surrey on a Monday 1st  May between 7 - 8.30.

After the success of the 'Grieve with Gusto' workshops I am creating a very small and initimate painting group.

This group will be a closed group consisting of between 4 - 6 women.  It will be a commitment of 8 weeks to work creatively through your grief journey.  I would teach a combination of writing, painting and expressive art skills to support the expression

of grief.  The group would form more of a bond together, supporting each other through this very important time.

To book you can either pay by PayPal through the link above or contact me through the details below for more information and my bank details.

Costs:

Closed Group: £200 for 8 weeks - all materials provided.  Participants would receive a sketchbook on the first day.

The 'Grieve with Gusto' painting group is for you if you are:

  • Grieving the loss of becoming a mother and having a family

  • Overwhelmed by emotions

  • Feeling ashamed of not being a mother or having your own family

  • Feeling depressed and low

  • Not knowing how to start the grieving process / the grief work

    everyone is talking about.

  • Feeling alone in this process

  • Not knowing how to have fun anymore.

  • Feeling stuck.

  • Forgot that part of you that wants to play.

  • Struggling with relationships and friendships.

  • Feeling lost in it all.

  • Overwhelmed with anger and jealousy of others.

Over the 8 weeks:

  • You will learn how to start to communicate your grief and loss creatively.

  • You will learn how to withstand grief & loss, allowing the pain to be acknowledged and possibly move on.

  • You will learn how to start to overcome blocks to creating and healing.

  • You will see how art can heal our emotions.

  • I will show you why it is important to stay in your heart with the grief process and why working from your mind does not always help this process.

  • You will not be alone in your grief and pain (this can be difficult for some - but its an amazing experience and one which will help us move on).

  • You will be able to tell your story.

  • You will experience what it feels like to live with something that cannot be fixed and start to feel the healing process.

  • You will bear witness to others pain – being aware that these feelings are precious – we do not have to hide them – we can honour them.

  • You will start to understand that our pain is a gift to ourselves and others.

  • You will be a part of a support system of women who are grieving and learn that there is no shame in this.  In fact it is necessary to not be alone when in our grief.

  • You will all have the opportunity to be part of your own private facebook page so you can have a supportive place to share your creative work or outreach between sessions.

 What my weekly students say!

''I found the session personally to be very interesting both emotionally and creatively. Helen's  "workshop?" provided a nurturing environment in which to delve deeper and tap into creative resources and I can see that further sessions would definitely aid anyone looking to do this. At the same time the sessions would be beneficial if you just want to let loose and enjoy doing some painting freestyle!"  Gemma, London

Thanks for the opportunity, I enjoyed it and valued being able to engage with my creativity in that way. You can’t imagine how excited it was to see all those lovely brushes and range of art materials, and the lovely paper too, I don’t think I’ve ever painted on paper like that! My inner child  was very happy! Thanks again. You came across as very calm, professional, capable. I felt safe, I felt if something had come up for me that I would have been able to discuss it with you.
